History

Trans Maritime Ltd was founded by Fred Bernhard Walliser in Basle-Dreispitz in February 1972. After an intensive and successful build-up phase, the company’s headquarters were moved in January 1981 to their current location at Rheinfelderstrasse 12 in CH-4127 Birsfelden/Basle.The company is completely owned by the family Walliser and is managed today by Bernhard Walliser.

Trans Maritime Ltd are specialised in deep sea traffic and European surface transports. The company offers multiple, daily departures to and from all important industrial areas.

The company is seen as the market leader in handling shipments from and to the United Kingdom/Ireland and the Benelux-States. Worldwide, personal contacts to mostly “family-owned companies” - in the UK with our own subsidiary, Trans Maritime UK Ltd - guarantee complete supervision of all entrusted shipments from “door to door” at all times.

In October 1993 Trans Maritime Ltd obtained ISO 9002 accreditation; as one of the first logistics-companies in Switzerland to do so. Today, the quality management system corresponds to ISO 9001 and is steadily being further developed.

Together with its national and international partners Trans Maritime Ltd is capable to offer first class services to its customers in the chemical/industrial or trading fields – this in all aspects of the freight forwarding business; be it in the transport-/customs clearance-/warehousing, or in the IT-sectors.

In order to give the best service possible to its customers, Trans Maritime Ltd takes utmost care in training its employees; both internally and externally. An ideal, good motivated team and a friendly working-atmosphere are the basis for quality and first class performance on all levels.
