June 2026Passar 2.0 – The digitalisation of imports continues
Swiss customs procedures are continuing to move towards digitalisation. With Passar 2.0, the transition to digital import procedures has begun. The first pilot shipments have already been completed.
Passar 2.0 will gradually replace the current e-dec Import system. The transition will take place in several stages and is expected to be completed by the end of 2027. During the transition period, both systems will operate in parallel. For businesses, the introduction of Passar means new processes and requirements for digital customs declarations. It is therefore advisable to familiarise yourself with the upcoming changes at an early stage.
Trans Maritime AG is closely monitoring the developments surrounding Passar and ensuring that our customs and transport processes are continuously adapted to the new requirements.

Gemäß der International Maritime Organisation (IMO) muss ab dem 1. Juli 2016 die Bruttomasse der einzelnen Schiffscontainer vor Verladung ermittelt, dokumentiert und der Reederei mitgeteilt werden. Dies soll die Sicherheit auf See (keine Fehlbeladungen von Schiffen) verbessern und Gefahren während des Seefrachttransports minimieren.
Als Folge muss ab dem 1. Juli 2016 für alle beladenen Container eine sogenannte Gewichtsverifikation (VGM – Verified Gross Mass ) durch den Absender deklariert werden.

Heavy vehicle road taxes Belgium
We hereby inform you that Belgium will introduce the heavy vehicle road taxes as from the beginning of April 2016. As Belgium is also a transit country in regards to traffic to and from the United Kingdom/Ireland, the heavy vehicle road taxes are also applicable for these countries.
